The Oakwood Surgery – Book an appointment to see us
Appointment booking at The Oakwood Surgery is quick and easy.
To book an appointment contact our reception team in person, by telephone, or via the NHS App.
When you speak to our reception team they will ask you about your problem. This is to help give our doctors an idea of what you need and how urgently your problem needs to be dealt with. They will ask you for your telephone number so that a Doctor can call you back.
Shortly after, one of our doctors will call you back and to try to help. We can provide consultations by telephone, via video link or if appropriate, face to face. If you need to see one of our team, we will offer you an appointment based on your availability and need. Most patients prefer to be seen on the same day but we can also offer appointment booking for some point in the future.
Patient Triage
For non urgent medical issues, admin queries fit (sick) notes, test results, prescriptions or any advice online you can access our patient triage from the Digital tab on our website or by clicking on this link. We will aim to respond within 3 working days.
Overflow Appointments
At peak times, there may be occasions where we are unable to offer you a same day appointment. Click here to see what other care options are available.
Think that you need to show the doctor something but don’t fancy coming to see us? That’s ok – why not ask for a AccuRX appointment? When you call the practice, just let the receptionist know that you would like a AccuRX call. But remember to stay by your computer or mobile phone!
When the practice is closed
When our Practice is closed and you need healthcare advice, you can contact the NHS 111 service by phone or online (111 or www.nhs.uk/111) where you will be advised of the most appropriate service for your needs. Calls are FREE from landlines and mobiles. NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Anything Else?
It is helpful if you contact us in the morning to book your appointment so that we can organise our day. However, if you have to call later in the day, that’s ok by us, but we might not be able to fit you in on the same day.
